Matt Magill has been creating comics from the moment he could hold a pencil. Growing up during the “superstar comic book artist” boom of the 1990s helped cement in his mind what his dream job would be, and where some people wanted to be a famous actor or musician, he always just wanted to draw comic books instead.
After graduating from the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon Graphics, he went on to provide the artwork for a few independently published books before jumping headfirst into the webcomic game with “Eat @ Shrimpy’s”, a call-back to a character he created in high school that he perfected in college. A few years later, Matt created Oh Jeez! Comics, to house not only his “Eat @ Shrimpy’s” work, but to also provide a landing spot for all of his webcomics including the topical humor of “Luthor the Laziest Viking” and the all-ages adventures of” Masters of the Treehouse.” In addition to regular updates of the “Masters” title, he also provides the art for “The Couch” and travels to libraries in his free time, cartooning with kids and reading his self-published children’s books starring a little autistic boy named Jason.
Matt lives in Central Square, New York with his wife, two sons and oddly proportioned dog (he missed “leg day”) and constantly has to refer to himself as “the other Matt Magill of Central Square.”
